I love the BIG zoom line of Kodak bridge cameras! The Z1012 has 10 Megapixels and 12x optical zoom, and it's light enough to be able to hold steady even zoomed out 12x. There's also an optical viewfinder if you prefer, rather that composing your shots from the LCD.

Battery life is excellent with CRV3 or KLIC-8000 (or equivalent) rechargable battery packs. It also accepts up to class 10 SDHC flash memory cards.

However, this particular camera arrived with a scratch on the front element lens, but the Kodak CCD sensor & software seem to be compensating for it as I've seen no evidence of the scratch in dozens of photos under every lighting condition. The 12X optical zoom is useful. It is easy to transfer the digital photos from the camera to my computer using the software and cable provided. The photos are sharp.It does have a date stamp, but it is now outdated if you desire this feature. The standard battery has a short life and the rechargeable lithium battery is the way to go.
