I just tried it at Toronto Pearson INTL, just had time to tune into ATIS (120.825), the voice over part of the ATIS message suddenly stopped after saying 'TORON.' , and hey presto! No radios worky no more! Thought the text line at the top of screen did carry on. Ah, but only ONCE, that normally repeats over until to tune out of the ATIS!

I know what you mean about the sensitivity of some of the 3d cockpit controls. One pixel off and it does something else, like switch the ALT hold off on the AP instead of increase the ALT hold set height.
